Modular structure simplifies production processes and optimizes planning logic
Berlin, October 7, 2024 – With the new version of the ERP system PSIpenta/ERP 10, PSI is providing numerous new functions. Along with other features, these offer greater flexibility and efficiency for controlling and optimizing production processes in the manufacturing industry.
The modern modular structure of the ERP system simplifies not only the implementation but also the configuration of solution modules as well as their provision, updates and operation. This significantly facilitates the roll-out of the system within companies with production sites at multiple locations. In addition, the group-wide PSI Java platform ensures operational and platform independence.
Many of the new functions in the new version 10 were designed and implemented in collaboration with existing customers. These include, for example, cross-structure material scheduling and picking. In addition, an assembly-friendly production structure can be automatically generated in order to precisely coordinate demand times and material picking across structures. This makes planning easier and saves a considerable amount of time and effort, while making the entire production process more effective and cost efficient. New forecasting functions are available for sales planning and enable actual data comparison.
In particular, serial manufacturers can benefit from an optimized planning logic through framework production orders, which reduces the administrative workload for the employees.
The resource management has been extended for the plastics manufacturing industry now taking into account time determination and coverage calculation. The new multi-level package management enables mapping of complex packages in the entire manufacturing process from goods receiving to warehousing and manufacturing to shipping.
