Berlin, January 26, 2022 - With the new Release 4.9 of the comprehensive and market-leading control system PSIcontrol, PSI Software AG provides new functions for all voltage and cross-connected networks and thus also expands the subordinate basis.

The current release 4.9 offers a protocol extension of the IEC 60870-6 TASE.2 coupling (Telecontrol Application Service Element 2) with a TASE.2 gateway. This new functionality allows flexible management of the connections as well as parallel operation of several control centers. This minimizes costs and risks when implementing new systems.

Functionally, the "SCADA Programming Interface" has been significantly revised and its language scope expanded. This enables customers to create their own applications even more effectively and under full control of the system.

In addition, the standard for fault analysis has been further automated. Besides the evaluation of a fault event, switching sequences for isolating the faulty area and resupplying non-faulty areas are available directly and without user intervention. This reduces the duration of the supply interruption and optimally supports the operators.

The network management in geographical displays is simplified by the integration of an "Open Street Map Server" and will enable additional display options in the future.

The planned outage management has been comprehensively redesigned which now operates as an independent system that can be networked with PSIcontrol. This enables a comprehensive distribution of the functions without affecting the integrity of the control system. Based on the PSIcommand 4.0 (Field Force Management System) module, users can expand and integrate the system with additional components such as outage logging and processing as well as asset management. Along with the modern graphical user interface, the drag and drop operations typical of PSIcontrol are fully supported.

Further functions regarding information retrieval, image variables for the optimal display of process pictures, analysis of the data model using the Object Browser and reporting are also part of this new release.

The PSI Group develops its own software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities (energy grids, energy trading, public transport) and industry (metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). The industry-specific products, which are built from standard components, are sold both directly and via the multi-cloud PSI App Store and can also be customized by customers and partners themselves. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs about 2,200 people worldwide.
