Upgrade fulfills cross-sector requirements in the standard
Berlin, January 4, 2024 - PSI Software SE has modernized the PSIcontrol network control system used by N-ERGIE Netz GmbH and successfully put it into operation. The highly available system offers extensive new functions for all sectors and three geographically distributed locations. With additional and easy-to-integrate standard modules, the new control center in Sandreuth, one of the most modern in Germany, is already optimally equipped for the future requirements of energy supply.
N-ERGIE Netz GmbH, based in Nuremberg, has been relying on PSI's network control technology solutions for almost 30 years. The company is one of the largest regional energy suppliers in Bavaria covering a supply area from Wurzburg to Ingolstadt.
As part of the energy transition, the requirements for N-ERGIE are increasing significantly in the electricity, gas, water distribution and generation as well as district heating sectors. In particular, the integration of constantly new decentralized feed-ins and the close meshing in the electricity sector with the upstream and downstream electricity network operators are making network management increasingly complex.
Therefore, PSI has included new functions in the upgrade, such as predictive grid simulation, grid security calculation for Bavaria, improved functions for the Redispatch process, new methods for leak detection as well as numerous individual improvements in grid management for all sectors.
The PSI Group develops software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities and industry. As an independent software producer with more than 2,200 employees, PSI has been a technology leader since 1969 for process control systems that ensure sustainable energy supply, mobility and production by combining AI methods with industrially proven optimization methods. The innovative industry products are sold both directly and via the cloud-based PSI App Store.
