Berlin, June 30, 2022 – Together with its partner PSI Metals, Slovenian steel company SIJ Metal Ravne, a part of the SIJ – Slovenian Steel Group, has implemented a new digital manufacturing architecture. The new IT system provides a better integration of the manufacturing and business processes, as well as the optimization, higher quality standards, and a more efficient customer support.

“With this project, SIJ Metal Ravne has acquired a fully integrated digital manufacturing architecture: from a customer management to a resource management system, including a new production management system which features a technology management system for the steel plant.” explains Vladimir Arshinov, Head of IT at SIJ Group. And he adds: “But this is not all there is to the digitalization of the SIJ Group’s manufacturing. On the contrary, we have further proof that our strategy to upgrade the digitalization of manufacturing is the right and only approach to manufacturing in the future.”

Jernej Močnik, Managing Director SIJ Metal Ravne, adds: “The main advantage is the stability of the entire process. This IT solution is a standard in the steel industry and we are trying to optimize our processes with its implementation. It is also essential that we will be able to manage the new IT system ourselves since a team of our employees played a part in co-developing the system. Having this knowledge in our hands is certainly the greatest added value. Our project partner PSI Metals fully understood our needs and worked with us to create the best possible solution.”

The PSI Group develops its own software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities (energy grids, energy trading, public transport) and industry (metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). The industry-specific products, which are built from standard components, are sold both directly and via the multi-cloud PSI App Store and can also be customized by customers and partners themselves. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs more than 2,200 people worldwide.
