The logistics service provider and PSI Logistics agree on strategic partnership
Berlin, 14 January 2021 - The logistics service provider RMD Logistics GmbH commissions the PSI Logistics GmbH to implement the PSIwms Warehouse Management System from the PSI-Cloud. PSI defines RMD this as both a reference and a pilot partner. In addition, both companies have signed a strategic collaboration on the continuous development of the most modern features and functionalities.
RMD Logistics, based in Mainaschaff, is specialized in logistics services for e-commerce, wholesale and advertising materials. It operates three locations in the Rhine-Main area with around 350 employees and almost 100,000 m² of logistics space. RMD's customer portfolio includes companies from various industries and sizes - including Eintracht Frankfurt, Sport2000, Hugo Boss and Alcon. With the multi-cloud-based PSIwms, the owner-managed family company is replacing an old system. With extensive functions, the modern software solution supports the digital transformation and the increase in efficiency in intralogistics as well as the optimization of cross-location processes.
In order to achieve these goals, RMD Logistics and PSI Logistics have agreed a far-reaching strategic cooperation within the framework of the award of the contract. Afterwards, RMD will be closely involved in the development of new features such as methods of artificial intelligence, with a mutual flow of information and an exchange of experience as well as certification as a reference project by the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML). RMD is available as a pilot customer for the use of new software technologies in controlled real operation. The future partnership also includes intensive cooperation with regional institutions such as the Aschaffenburg Chamber of Commerce, the Aschaffenburg Logistics Initiative and the Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences.
Based on its own software products, PSI Group develops and integrates complete solutions for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities (energy networks, energy trading, public transport) and industry (metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). PSI was founded in 1969 and employs more than 2,000 people worldwide.
