PSIeDMS start: Maximum performance, minimum complexity

All processes in your depot - such as vehicle parking, supply, scheduling and visualization of the operational situation - are mapped in one system. The modular structure also offers you the security of successive expansion up to a fully automated solution. Driving and duty roster data is transferred from the existing systems via standard interfaces and forms the basis for scheduling. You can then easily map your drivers with the Profahr operational personnel scheduling system.

Advantages

PSItraffic/DMS

  • Transparency across all areas of the portfolio Transparency across the entire fleet status and all areas of the depot - workshop, supplies, personnel
  • Integration of vehicle fleets of any size Cross-company system, i.e. can be used for bus, streetcar, underground/metro and also emission-free fleets.
  • Integrated monitoring Graphical and tabular views provide you with real-time information about your fleet
  • Can be used for various drive types Whether diesel, electric, hydrogen or gas buses, streetcars or trains - all vehicles are monitored and dispatched according to the requirements of the operation.

All functions in view

  • Vehicle identification, location determination Radio tracking enables vehicles to be identified in good time when they enter and leave the depot and their locations to be determined. Delayed entries and exits are reported as alarms or warnings. The vehicle locations are displayed in the system for dispatchers and workshop employees and form the basis of their work.
  • Automatic parking space allocation When entering the depot, the driver is informed where to park the vehicle for refueling or sanding, for maintenance, cleaning or repair work or for the next exit. Daily manoeuvring is greatly minimized, thus saving working time.
  • Disposition of workshop and supply work PSItraffic/DMS carries out the scheduling for workshop and supply work or takes over the corresponding information from a workshop system (e.g. SAP, Maximo, COSware), assigns service stations to the vehicles, informs the workshop and service employees and documents all completed work
  • Providing driver information PSItraffic/DMS informs drivers at terminals or via cell phones about their services, vehicle location and status. At the same time, the system informs the dispatchers about the punctual departure from the parking space and the exit from the depot.
  • Quality management PSItraffic/DMS bundles historical operating data, evaluates it graphically and in reports and thus creates the basis for evaluations and process optimizations.
  • Automatic vehicle and circulation assignment The vehicles are parked in the depot in such a way that the right vehicles are available for all subsequent rounds. If a vehicle is not ready for use, it is rescheduled in real time. If a round cannot be filled because there are not enough vehicles available, a vehicle shortage is immediately reported in the system and the dispatcher can act in good time. The basis for all optimization is PSI's Qualicision® technology, which has proven itself many times over in industry.

FAQ'S

How long does it take to introduce a Depot Management System (DMS)?

Every transport company has its own special regulations and processes. Nevertheless, it is possible to achieve visible benefits with a standard system. Economic aspects and a shortage of skilled workers can be mitigated through digitalization. Many years of experience on the market have resulted in a modular system that proves its reliability to customers on a daily basis. This makes it possible to use configurations to provide a basis in just a few weeks that makes its operational benefits tangible.

Additional functions can then be put into operation on the practical system in line with operational requirements. This creates trust and reduces costs, also in your company.

How much work do your employees have to do?

New IT systems and changes to familiar processes often cause mistrust and resentment among those involved. Active communication about what has been planned and achieved generates effort, but reduces visible and invisible resistance during system implementation. Let the key users have their say and turn those affected into participants. This allows you to identify any planning errors and take countermeasures at an early stage. This creates a professional exchange between users and suppliers away from the monthly project reports and reduces the effort involved by months of misunderstandings.

What can you do for a quick introduction?

As with many activities, good preparation replaces later corrections. Talk internally and externally at an early stage about the goals to be achieved with the new system. Describe your operating processes and check their future viability. A network of experienced consultants and experts from PSI will support you in this. Check your existing IT systems for existing interfaces and the quality of the data when exporting. Standards, e.g. VDV, also for the interfaces are a good starting point, but do not guarantee that no further coordination is required. The company management should be regularly involved in order to keep decision-making paths short.
