Berlin, February 22, 2022 - The Sächsisch-Oberlausitzer Eisenbahngesellschaft (SOEG) has awarded Moveo Software GmbH, a subsidiary of PSI Transcom GmbH, with the delivery and implementation of the Profahr personnel dispatching system. SOEG is the operator of the Zittau narrow gauge railroad.
Up to now, SOEG has carried out both duty formation and planning as well as personnel accounting manually. With the implementation of Profahr, the Zittau-based company is taking a major step towards digitalization and aims to create significantly more efficient and transparent processes. Every day, the system will schedule around 35 services for a total of 50 drivers. Short-term changes will be dispatched automatically and in compliance with legal requirements.
In addition, paper notices and the bulletin board will be replaced by modern digital solutions: Via the "electronic timetable" and "mobile communication" modules, drivers see all services on a large screen. Employees receive relevant information directly on their smartphone or tablet, e.g., changes to the duty schedules, construction site information, messages from the management or information from the employee council.
The Zittau narrow-gauge railroad with a gauge of 750 mm and a total route of 16.5 kilometers runs daily from Zittau via Bertsdorf and branches out from there to the spa towns of Oybin and Jonsdorf. Since 1996, the railroad has been owned by the Sächsisch-Oberlausitzer Eisenbahngesellschaft (Saxon Upper Lusatian Railway Company), which was founded specifically to maintain the railroad. For the meantime, the company also operates a freight service on the Regelspureisenbahn, the railroad marketing network "Dampfbahn-Route Sachsen", four overnight accommodation properties and a publishing house.
The PSI Group develops its own software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities (energy grids, energy trading, public transport) and industry (metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). The industry-specific products, which are built from standard components, are sold both directly and via the multi-cloud PSI App Store and can also be customized by customers and partners themselves. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs nearly 2,200 people worldwide.
