Berlin, December 21, 2024 - PSI Software SE, Berlin, sells the Mobility business unit to Altamount Software GmbH, an investment platform belonging to CHAPTERS Group AG. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price of the transaction until the closing of the share transfer. The contracting parties aim to complete the share transfer in the first quarter of 2025. Closing of the transaction requires the approval of the Federal Ministry for Economics Affairs and Climate Action, as the products of PSI Transcom GmbH are part of Germany's critical infrastructure.
The Mobility business unit is a software provider with around 100 employees in Germany and Poland and a focus on mobility solutions for optimal personnel and vehicle availability in transport companies. The Mobility business division is characterized by the high growth momentum in the marketing of software solutions for electric bus depots with average sales growth rates of around 12% in recent years. The economic prospects for further business development are considered to be above average both nationally and internationally due to the strong growth rates in the area of e-mobility solutions in local public transport.
With the sale of the Mobility business unit, PSI is continuing its focus on industrial software for network and energy management, process industry and steel, discrete manufacturing and logistics. As part of the PSI Reloaded strategy, the PSI Executive Board has announced that it will pursue an active portfolio strategy. This lays the foundation for long-term sales and earnings growth and consistent capital allocation. The sale of the Mobility business unit, which accounts for around 5% of PSI's total Group activities, will not result in any significant changes to the relevant key performance indicators for PSI.
The CEO of PSI, Robert Klaffus:
“The PSI Executive Board thanks both the employees and the management team of PSI Transcom GmbH for their many years of loyalty and commitment to PSI and will do everything in its power to support Altamount Software GmbH in taking over the Mobility business unit completely. The integration of the Mobility business unit into the investment platform of the CHAPTERS Group opens up attractive new prospects for sustainable growth for customers and employees. We are delighted to have found an excellent partner for the Mobility division in the CHAPTERS Group, who will actively support the further development of the business on the basis of an SME-oriented approach.”
CHAPTERS CEO Jan-Hendrik Mohr:
“We are aware of our great responsibility towards the team and customers of PSI Transcom GmbH and are looking forward to our joint journey! Our Altamount platform is the right long-term home for this mission-critical software provider. We are proud of Andreas Philippi and his team, who have now very effectively implemented the second carve-out of a software company from a multinational corporation within six months. We would like to thank the PSI Software SE team for their excellent cooperation, which we would like to intensify further.”
