RWE Energy acquires 9.09 percent of leading control system provider
Berlin, 20 May 2009 – The Executive Board of PSI AG decided on 20 May 2009 with the Supervisory Board's consent to increase capital from authorized capital by 1,189,999 shares under exclusion of subscription rights at an issue price of 7,61 Euro. All shares are subscribed to and underwritten by RWE Energy AG, Dortmund. With this, RWE Energy underlines the years of successful cooperation with PSI.
RWE Energy is the RWE Group’s sales and grid company for Continental Europe. With its 28,699 employees, RWE Energy generated total revenues of EUR 32.3 billion in 2008, which makes it one of the leading utility companies in Europe. In the future, RWE Energy will profit as both a customer and investor in the growth and the technological leading position of PSI in the market for control technology software.
With the issuance of 1,189,999 new named no-par-value shares, the company’s equity capital will be increased by nominal EUR 3,046,397.44, to EUR 33,510,397.44. PSI will receive 9,055,892.39 Euro. PSI will use the inflow of funds to speed up growth, for strategic acquisitions, investments and to strengthen research and development activities.
PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, water, heat), cross-company production management (metals, mechanical engineering, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs more than 1,100 persons in the group.
